I ran a 50k this weekend – (30ish miles)
And like clockwork, life got me behind on projects again.
After 30 miles my body needed to recover, and I did not work on my projects like Martch.

The race in question was the chuckanut 50k….
This clockwork hones in on the art of life: The balancing act of sprints, and recovery. I don’t have the balance down, but I’m realizing as I live, the uneasiness/ occasional sadness I feel about life often arises out of lack of balance.
This isn’t a work vs. fun sort of balance. As an artist, my work is my fun. This balance is: getting needed rest (sleep, inspiration, community, fuel, etc.) in response to the amount of effort expended. (effort can be expended towards fun, work, even ‘relaxing’, anything that drains. Even rest can become draining.)
I’m also learning there is a need for variation.
Especially learned this running 32 miles, and finding my knees barely worked after the same repetitive motion for 6 hours!
Next time you feel burnt out, maybe mix some things up, rest, focus, whatever you think you might need, you probably need.
As always, see all the Martch pictures Here.
