Seattle Signal Box

This is the signal box on the Greenwood Crosswalk between 85th and 87th!

I know you’ve seen them, they rule this ridge. Some with an iron beak, others with a curious head tilt, circling and gliding from sea to lake in search of shiny things; they are the Crows. I created this piece because Seattle seems to have infinite crows. Their black wings are a perfect graphic contrast to the Emerald City’s blue skies, and PhinneyWood’s colorful brick buildings. Medium: Pen, paper, pixels

I worked with the Phinney Neighborhood Association and the City of Seattle to help place-make the Phinneywood area. Phinneywood’s known for being centrally located next to Greenlake and the Woodland Park Zoo, so I sought to create a city of animals. Or rather, a city of Crow.
